SCHOLARSHIPS
Carson Long Military Academy is offering an EITC (Educational Improvement Tax Credit) scholarship for the 2011-12 academic year to a Pennsylvania resident. Funded through the State’s Educational Improvement Tax Credit (EITC) program, the scholarship will be available to one student planning to attend Carson Long in the fall.
RequirementsIn accordance with the requirements of the EITC program, a scholarship applicant must be a member of a household with an annual income of not more than $60,000. For each additional dependent living within the household, there is an additional income allowance of $12,000.
The scholarship is available only to those entering ninth, 10th or 11th grade in the fall. Applicants must have achieved a grade point average of at least 2.66 in the previous grade and participated in at least two extracurricular activities.
References are required with the application, as is a 400-word essay. In addition, the scholarship recipient must complete 40 hours of community service over the course of the year.
