PRESIDENT'S MESSAGE

Welcome to the Carson Long website,

I am truly honored to be the President of Carson Long Military Institute. The school’s vision of “Education for Life” and the motto “How to Learn, How to Labor, How to Live” are the principles which provide us the opportunity to positively influence the lives of young men. I enjoy the responsibility of leading this outstanding organization because I believe our nation needs young men with character and knowledge.

Our goal is to help each individual cadet grow to reach his potential.  We believe Carson Long's leadership programs build character and instill discipline that enables our graduates to create and maximize opportunities that they otherwise wouldn't have had.

Carson Long’s academic program prepares cadets for college or whatever route they choose, including the service academies. Students and alumni tell us they find our average class size and faculty supervised study halls are the keys to their academic success at Carson Long. Our faculty is committed to ensuring our cadets attain their academic potential.

Character - Spending time at Carson Long shapes and molds young men's values and views of themselves and their world.

Leadership - The Carson Long Experience hones and develops leadership skills in ways that public schools and many home environments can not.

Opportunity - Carson Long prepares cadets to identify and maximize opportunities they might have overlooked or been unable to act upon prior to their time at the school.

Parents tell us that their boys become men.  Graduates talk about how their lives were changed because of Carson Long.  We know it works…we know it to be true…

I encourage you to spend some time browsing our website, requesting one of our catalogs, and finally visiting our beautiful campus nestled into a hillside overlooking the Juniata Valley.

Regards,

COL (R) Matthew J. Brown
President
