Health and Wellness
Carson Long Military Academy prefers that no student ever gets hurt. However, since boys work and play hard, they do get sick and occasionally injure themselves. Carson Long maintains a fully equipped 10-bed infirmary, which is our first line of defense when cadet health issues arise. Our school nurse staffs the infirmary from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. each weekday, and she is on call the rest of the time. In addition, we contract with the local medical center for both the doctors who attend cadets as needed on campus each Monday and Friday and for routine appointments needed by our students. Carson Long's school nurse manages the dispensation of both prescription and over-the-counter cadet medications and arranges doctors' appointments and medical testing, all in communication with parents to ensure that cadets are well cared for at their home away from home.
