The Carson Long Campus is on North Carlisle Street, New Bloomfield, 2 blocks beyond the tall monument in the Center Square. You will turn left to enter the campus (thru mountain stone gate). The main office will be the second building on your right once you enter the campus (Centennial Hall).
TRANSPORTATION TO CARSON LONG - AMTRAK ®
Carson Long has three (3) scheduled vacations for the 2008-2009 school year. A majority of our students will travel home to the New York/New Jersey area via AMTRAK.
If you live in New York City and/or surrounding areas of Penn Station and would like your son to ride AMTRAK home for the scheduled SCHOOL VACATIONS we have provided a form that you can download with the links below.
With the returned forms, Carson Long will be able to:
- Estimate the number of students that may need to be placed on a Group Ticket.
- The school can purchase the round-trip ticket at a reduced cost.
- Save the parents the worry of travel plans. However, even with the completed form, we will not automatically put your son on the group ticket.
We would appreciate a courtesy call / email (clcontact@carsonlong.org) from the parents at vacation time to inform us of your son’s travel plans. If you do sign your son up for a GROUP TICKET and then decide to make other travel plans, you will still be responsible for the cost of the GROUP TICKET.
If you do not sign up for a GROUP TICKET and you decide to send your son home on the AMTRAK train, you will be responsible for purchasing your own ticket for him and then provide the school with a reservation number at least 5 days before the scheduled vacation. You will be reminded by letter before each vacation.
If your son is 14 years and younger it is best to travel by GROUP TICKET. Otherwise, you will be required to be at the AMTRAK station to pick your son up personally. AMTRAK has a policy that any persons under 14 years of age are considered unaccompanied minors and must be escorted by the conductor to the adult picking them up. This also requires additional paperwork for the parents.
If you travel to Philadelphia you will need to purchase the ticket and provide the school with the reservation number or actual ticket at least 5 days prior to the vacation date.
